EF VR provides researchers an immersive assessment for executive function across four core domains - planning, inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility, and concept formation. EF VR provides real-time data collection for each executive function domain to ensure researchers and clinicians can take a multi-measure approach to understanding a person's executive function. EF VR provides a truly immersive assessment of executive function.
EF VR was designed to address the limitations of clinician-administered and computer-based assessment of executive function, with the goal of making assessment more reflective of executive function capabilities in day to day tasks. Using VR provides limitless opportunities to recreate common scenarios to assess real-time behavioral outcomes. In addition, EF VR includes traditional tests for EF that map on the core domains, including cognitive flexibility, inhibitory control, planning, and concept formation.
Clinical assessment of executive function can be burdened by over complicated scoring metrics which can dramatically increase testing error due to human error. This has been recognized as an existing pitiful in neuropsychological evaluations, which is why many companies have moved EF assessment to tablet-based assessment. Unfortunately, this results in a lack of fidelity due to the constraints of a 2D platform with limited interactivity. Instead, EF VR provides immersive and interactive assessment of executive function that provides life-life experience while maintaining data integrity.
